Hiking & Trekking

Trekking is basically traversing the mountain valleys and terrain for multiple days either using tea houses or tented camps as means of accommodation. Trekking trips should offer people a mix of gentle walking, a great mountain view, and an opportunity to interact with locals and their traditions. Trekking in Nepal is one of the most popular activities. The activity is popular mainly due to its high rising landscape of mountains, river valleys, and scenic villages. Trekking in Nepal takes you to the base camps of vantage points of some of the most beautiful mountains in the Himalayas. Even though Everest and Annapurna are the most popular trekking regions in Nepal, there are many other routes and regions which offer panoramic mountain view and opportunity to mingle with the locals.

Trekking can be done solo or in groups with the help of agencies like Himalayan trekkers. You need trekking permits or special permits if you are going into restricted areas. A trekking trip in the Himalayas can last a couple of days to more than a month, depending on your physical fitness, budget, and interest. Hiking usually consists of a single day trip, unlike trekking, you come back to the starting point at the end of the day.
