Culture

Most people in Tibet are of Tibetan origin but due to high migration from mainland China, some areas are becoming predominantly Han Chinese these days. Tibetan People speak the Tibetan language and follow Tibetan Buddhism. Their way of life is very religious, and people are very charitable in this land.

Geography

Tibet lies in the rain-shadow area, so rainfall is very less that keeps the land dry, cold, and arid. The mountains are very cold with temperatures reaching as low as -30 degrees, but the lowlands and valleys are pleasant with a maximum temperature of 15 degrees to a minimum of -2 degrees (Based on Lhasa). Tibet is the origin of numerous big rivers in the Indian subcontinent and mainland China.

History

Tibetan history dates to 127 BC with the establishment of the Yarlung Dynasty. During the 1200-1350 AD, Tibet had a big Mongol influence. It had changed in territory throughout history due to constant battles fought in different frontiers. After 1949 it has become an Autonomous state of China.
