Everest View Trek is a short trek which provides you an overall glimpse of Everest region and its main attractions. Everest View trek has the highest altitude around 4000 meters. This tour encompasses the Mt. Everest (8,848 Meters), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 meters), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 meters), Mt. Pumori (7,161 meters), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 meters), Mt. Thamserku (6,623 meters), Mt. Kongde (6,187 meters) and other mountains of Everest region as well. Besides, the mountainous aspect, this mini trek will also provide you opportunity to witness the lifestyle of local Sherpas.

As you continue this trek, you will witness the popular Sherpa villages like Monjo, Syangboche, Khumjung etc. Tengboche village is another pristine village that you will be taken to as a part of this trek. Eventually this trek leads you to Tengboche monastery located at an altitude of 3867 meters. Tengboche monastery is the main destination and highlight of this trek. This monastery is located on a ridge/cliff and is surrounded by the dense forest of rhododendron. You will be spell-blinded by the view of Tengboche monastery with the backdrop mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam etc.

The temperature goes down as the altitude increases but it’s not much compared to the popular high-altitude treks of Nepal like Everest Base camp, or Kanchenjunga Base camp. As a result, this trek is quite easy and fit for those who are lagging behind in terms of trekking experience. Everest View Trek is at its best during Spring and Autumn season. However, due to its lower altitude (comparatively) you can also take this trek during winter season.

Arrival: Kathmandu > Departure: Kathmandu


Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu (1,340m)

The first day of your trek demands you to be in Kathmandu. We will have arranged an appropriate hotel for your accommodation. You will be explained in brief about the outline of the Everest View trek, what you can expect, the things you have to carry etcetera.


Day 2: Fly to Lukla and from Lukla trek to Phakding (2650m)

We start this day with breakfast in the hotel. We will then fly to Lukla from Kathmandu. The flight will be about 40 minutes. You will meet your trekking mates after landing at the Tenzing Hillary Airport located at Lukla. Our destination for this day is Phakding (2650 meters), so we will trek for roughly 3 hours to reach there. We will be staying overnight at Phakding.


Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

After an early breakfast, we will begin this day. We will walk through several bridges including the one over the Dudhkoshi river. We will have lunch at Monjo. After Monjo, our trekking trail will take us across Sagarmatha National Park. 
We will trek along the bank of Dudh Koshi river, viewing the magnolia trees, Rhododendrons etcetera. Our trek will be graced by the first glance of Mount Everest in the background of Nuptse-Lhotse. We will hike up further to reach Namche Bazar at an altitude of 3440 meters. This might take us from 6-7 hours of trek. We will be staying at this popular hub equivalent place in the Khumbu region. 


Day 4: Trek from Namche to Thame Buddhist Monastery

This day we will visit the tranquil and spiritual Thame Buddhist Monastery. This will be our acclimatization day so as to adapt our body, mind, and soul to the environment we are in. This day you will be hiking for about 5 hours. We will visit the Sagarmatha National Park and tourist center located near its headquarters.


Day 5: Namche Bazar to Tengboche Monastery

Day 5 of Everest View Trek will make you incredibly happy and excited as it offers stunning mountain views of the highest mountains like Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and many more. After trekking for 6 hours across the jagged yet strikingly beautiful trails, the destination of this day, i.e. Tengboche will arrive. We will stay overnight at this spiritual and honorary place of Khumbu. 
Tengboche Monastery (at 3870 meters) is the prime attraction of this place where monks of various age groups take part in the rituals. This place is highly revered and visited by the Buddhists across the world. 


Day 6: Tengboche Monastery to Khumjung

This day, we will visit Khumjung Monastery of Khumjung Village. We will walk downhill, amidst a pine forest and fir trees, so as to reach Khumjung village. The sacred Khumjung Monastery located at 3810 meters is said to preserve the valuable yeti scalp. 
We will be staying overnight at a teahouse in Khumjung village.

Day 7: Khumjung Monastery to Syangboche

Following the stone-made trails, we commence this day of the trek. We will stop for a while at appealing and attractive Khunde Village. After a while, we will continue the secluded path. We view the mountain vistas as a part of our trekking experience. 3 hours of trekking will bring us to Syangboche (3720 meters). We will visit the Syangboche stupa and stay overnight at the teahouse.


Day 8: Trek from Syangboche to Monjo

We begin trekking after having an early breakfast. We will arrive at Monjo (2835 meters) after 5 hours of trekking. Our trekking route will take us across the Dudhkoshi river, Sagarmatha National Park. We will night at Monjo.


Day 9: Trek from Monjo to Lukla

Living up the best experiences, we will trek down to Lukla. We will witness the stone-carved and painted with Buddhist mantras throughout the path. We will be staying the night at Lukla. In Lukla, we will celebrate and rejoice over our successful trek with delicious cuisines, beverages, music, and dance.


Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu

The final day of the Everest Monastery Trek will bring you back to Kathmandu after 40 minutes of flight from Lukla. We will host a farewell dinner for you later in the evening.


Day 11: Departure from Kathmandu/ Farewell

One of our staff or representatives will escort you to the airport and bid you goodbye.

The difficulty of Everest View Trek:

Everest View trek falls into the category of the easy trek as it’s not a high-altitude trek. The interested travelers can be a part of this trek along with their family if they have maintained a basic level of fitness. For your ultra-safety, we recommend you to get onto some physical exercise so that 5-6 hours of trekking for a few days won’t be a huge deal. With health conditions under check and some trekking guidance, even the trekking enthusiasts with no prior trekking experience can go through with this trek.

 We further suggest that you prepare yourself mentally as well as physically for this trek. This might help you in case you fall prone to Altitude Sickness. We suggest you do basic research then decide which season to go for the Everest View trek as the weather is a vital factor to consider while planning any trip or trek.


Best time for Everest View Trek

One of the best times for Everest View Trek is spring. Besides the spring season, the Autumn season is also very appropriate for this trek.  As a result of the comparatively low altitude, we can also go for this trek during the winter season. However, be sure to pack accordingly. Avoid Everest View Trek during the Summer season if possible.


Everest View Trek during Summer season:

 Summer season is among the least preferred time for Everest View Trek. The slippery and muddy trail as a result of rainfall is the reason behind it. To make it even worse, trails might be teeming with leeches plus unclear whether might result in poor on no views of Himalayas at all.


Everest View Trek during Spring season: 

Blooming rhododendrons and other flowers, spectacular views of the Himalayas, safe trails, and good mild weather conditions make spring season the best season to visit Everest View Trek.


Everest View Trek during Autumn season: 

Autumn season is another best season for Everest View Trek. The sight of blooming forest and green fledgling forests might be missing in Autumn months by vivid panoramas of mountains, clear blue skies, and safe trails more than make up for it.


Everest view Trek during Winter Season: 

Due to low altitude, Everest View Trek is a good choice during the winter season as well. The benefits include safe trails, good views, trekking in solitude etcetera. However, we advise you to take this trek during winter only if your routine is very strict and henceforth have no time during another favorable season.
