How difficult is Ghorepani Poonhill Trek?

Ghorepani Poonhill trek is an easy trek thanks to the lower elevation of this trek. This trek is appropriate for novice or seasoned trekkers and also for adventure enthusiasts of all age groups as long as one has maintained a decent fitness game. This trek is family-friendly and many domestic, as well as international tourists, have chosen this trek as their family gateway. Although trekking to Ghorepani Poonhill is considered easy, zero preparations on your part might quickly escalate things and make this trek more of a challenge than a fulsome journey. Hence, we do recommend you to pick the trekking season wisely, be updated with the weather forecast for this trek, try walking in uneven topography, and maintain a decent fitness level.

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is one of the short and convenient treks of Nepal. However, if you try to rush things and finish this trek in less than 5 days, you will have been gaining more altitude and as well as covering more grounds in a single day this boosting up the difficulty of Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking.

Best time for Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

Ghorepani Poonhill trek is available throughout the year and it can be taken at any time. However, different people root for different times or months to take this trek. Ghorepani Poonhill trek is not a strenuous trek. Nor a very high-altitude trek (maximum altitude is 3210 meters) consequently, it is quite flexible. As a result, the best window for Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is also wide.

Generally speaking, the best time for Ghorepani Poonhill trekking is the spring, Autumn, and winter seasons. This, however, highly varies from the trekking experience, preference. These seasons are characterized by clear skies, good weather/climatic conditions, sharp trekking landscapes, great Himalaya visibility, etc. Autumn and Spring season are even more popular, so the hotels or lodges in trekking routes might be occupied or a bit costly. The summer season in Ghorepani Poonhill Trek can get inconvenient because of heavy rainfalls, humidity, slippery trails, leeches in trekking routes etcetera. Plus, the mountain views also might not be vivid or as magnetic (compared to how majestic they seem in the Autumn/Spring season) because summer days are more likely to be cloudy days.
