Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is the most popular and the ultimate short trek situated in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This incredible trek takes you in the vicinity of the most popular mountains in the world like Mount Annapurna (8091 meters), Mount Dhaulagiri (8167 meters), Mount Tukuche (6920 meters) and so much more. The highest point of this trek is Poonhill at 3210 meters which are known for the mesmerizing sunrise panoramas as the sun rays hit the hills and the glowing mountains for the first time. As a result, Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is also referred to as Annapurna Sunrise trek.

Day 02: Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (800 m).

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2860m)

Day 06: A short climb from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210 m) and trek back to Tadapani(2630m)

Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk (1940 meters) from Tadapani, village tour in the evening

Day 08: Trek to Birethanti (1025 m) and drive to Pokhara

Itinerary

Arrival: Kathmandu > Departure: Kathmandu

Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1350 m).

Our representative will welcome you and escort you to the pre-booked hostel room in Kathmandu in the Thamel area. Use your leisure time as you see fit. Overnight stay at the hotel in Thamel.

Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley.

On the second day of the tour, we will explore the UNESCO world heritage sites located in Kathmandu valleys like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Patan Durbar Square.  Kathmandu valley encompasses 3 prime cities of Nepal which are equally rich in cultural, historical, and religious aspects. It won’t be wrong to say that the enriching heritages site that we will explore today will provide you a glimpse of diverse Nepalese culture, architectural progression, and religion at large. We will also provide you some tips and advice on the Ghorepani trekking route and program. Overnight at the same hotel.

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (800 m).

We will pick you up from the hotel room and leave for Pokhara. Pokhara is another popular city of Nepal known for its natural beauty, adventure activities, etc. In our journey to Pokhara, you will be bestowed with a kaleidoscope of panoramas from the Trisuli and Marsyangdi rivers, cultivated lands, subtropical forest, modern and old houses, several settlements, etc. Overnight stay at a hotel in the city of lakes and caves- Pokhara.

Drive to Birethanti (1025m) and trek to Ulleri (2070 m)

After a scrumptious breakfast, we will drive towards Birethanti. The scenic drive of about 1 hour will bring us to Birethanti. The driving and trekking route will expose us to the gems of remote Nepal like green rolling hills, occasional view of mighty Himalayas, numerous small and large streams, perennial rivers, local settlements and so much more. We will cross several teahouses and villages while inching towards Ulleri (2070 meters) where we will be staying the night at a decent lodge.

Trek to Ghorepani (2860m)

We will walk through the forested trail amidst the rhododendron and oak forest (Perhaps even blooming rhododendron flowers if you trek in a certain appropriate time and season) as we head towards Ghorepani (2860 meters). Besides this, we will also get spectacular views of mountains like Fishtail/ Machhapuchhre (6997 meters), Annapurna South (7219 meters), etc. Eventually, we will reach Ghorepani which is mainly resided by the Magar community-one of the fascinating ethnic groups of Nepal with a unique culture. Overnight stay at a lodge in Ghorepani which also includes dinner and breakfast service.

A short climb from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210 m) and trek back to Tadapani(2630m)

One of the major attractions of the Ghorepani Poonhill trek is “the breathtaking sunrise views from Poonhill”. With the goal to witness this splendor, we will hike up to Poonhill early in the morning. The panoramas of sunrise over the Annapurna massif, Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 meters), Mt. Machhapuchre (6993 meters) and so many other adjoining peaks are simply spellbinding. We kid you not when we say that this view will make you forget the entire physical adversities and fatigue so far. After enjoying and taking some photographs, we will follow the forested trail to arrive back in Tadapani for an overnight stay.

Trek to Ghandruk (1940 meters) from Tadapani, village tour in the evening

Today, we will trek to another popular destination of this incredible tour. Ghandruk located at 1940 meters is a Gurung village and is acknowledged for the sublime mountain views, heartwarming hospitality of locals, etc. We will trek gently relishing the serenity and views of dense forest which comprises rhododendron, oaks, and many other sorts of trees. Upon reaching Gandruk, we will go on the village tour, and try some local foods (Maybe even learn some local words). We will return back to the lodge for staying overnight.

Trek to Birethanti (1025 m) and drive to Pokhara

Relishing our final moments in the tranquility of Nepali hills and mountains, we will trek back to Birethanti walking past hill landscapes, forests, cultivated terraced lands, pastures, etc. We will drive from Birethanti to Pokhara and stay in a lakeside hotel for one more night.

Drive back to Kathmandu followed by transfer to hotel

We will enjoy a drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. This will relax your sore muscles and also provide you some distant views of the route. Our staff/ representative will escort you back to the hotel where you can be fresh and take a rest for a while. Overnight, we will host a farewell dinner to celebrate our trek and time together.

We will escort you to Tribhuvan International Airport and see you off as you fly to your home or next destination.
