Arrival at Delhi

Delhi is the starting point of our trip which is the capital city of India. You will be flying from your country to Delhi. After landing, you need to go through the various documents task where you have to follow the customs and show the required documents to the authority.

After completing the check-out processes, you will see our Indian representatives at the airport, who will escort you to the Hotels where you will be staying for the night. Similarly, our Indian guide will explain briefly about the following days' India tour.

Delhi Tour

After enjoying breakfast early in the morning, we will explore the old and new Delhi. Both of these towns are rich in sightseeing. The streets of the old town are extremely attractive, which is crowded with rickshaws and street vendors. Also, in the center of old Delhi, you can explore the red fort from the Moghul era, Chandi Chowk (Main bazaar of the old Delhi), Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid Mosque, etc.

In New Delhi, you can stroll around the Government building and India Gate around Connaught place where numerous modern shopping centers are located. Outside the center, you can visit Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, Bahai Temple (Lotus Shaped Temple), etc. You can enjoy the drive in an auto-rickshaw and taxi in the crowded streets.

After the long sightseeing of the historical and modern places of New and Old Delhi, you will be transferred to a hotel where you will be served ethnic Indian dishes. After having dinner, you will directly go to bed.

Delhi to Jaipur

Today we will head towards Jaipur from Delhi early in the morning. The biggest attraction of Jaipur is it is pink in color. You will see how the buildings, walls, windows, and domes of Jaipur are neatly managed and are pink in color. On the way, we will pass through Aravalli hills and Indian idyllic villages.

After reaching Jaipur, we will rest in the hotel for a while. Jaipur is famous for jewelry, carpets, and handicrafts. After relaxing for a while, we will visit Amber Fort and Palace. You can explore this fort by riding on the top of the elephant. It was built by Raja Mansingh and is one of Indian's popular Rajput architectures. We will also explore the hallways and chamber of the palace which have unique designs.

Then, we will visit the unique Jantar Mantar which was built by Raja Jai Singh in 1728. It is a stunning stone observatory. Similarly, we will head towards 'Hawa Mahal' also known as Palace of the Wind which was built in 1799. It is believed that this intriguing facade was built to allow the ladies of the court to view the pink city without getting caught by others.

In the evening, you can enjoy a tour of the walled city and the hectic market of Jaipur. You can buy the local items as souvenirs to your closed one as this city has incredibly unique ancient arts and architecture.

Jaipur to Agra

After having breakfast, we will explore the rest of the attractions of Jaipur. We will visit the City Palace which is the residence of the Royal Family. It is still not accessible by the public. This palace was built in Rajasthani and Mughal styles. We will also visit the museums that are located inside this palace.

After making a short exploration of Jaipur, we will drive to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri. At the ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri, we will stop for the rest and lunch. It was built of red sandstone between 1570 and 1585 by Emperor Akbar. We will also explore this town. After our arrival at Agra, we will check in to the hotel and spend our leisure time wandering around the city. We will explore the Mausoleum of Mumtaz (wife of Moghvorst Shah Jahan) and enjoy the atmosphere around the surrounding area.

Agra Fort on the bank of Yamuna River is immensely popular for the mosques, built of marble. So, we will walk around the old town of Agra where Agra fort is located to visit the different mosques having historical values. You can also enjoy the rickshaw ride in Agra. However, to avoid the heavy price, be sure to set the price beforehand for the ride.

Agra to Delhi

Today, we will visit the major attraction of Agra i.e., the Taj Mahal which is popular throughout the world. It was built by Shah Jahan and Sunrise illuminates the entire Taj Mahal in the morning which will surely make you smile. Besides this, we will also visit the tomb of Akbar located in the town of Sikandra.

Then, we will proceed back to Delhi and spend our leisure time roaming around the bustling streets of this city.

Fly to Paro and Drive to Thimpu

Today you will depart from Delhi to Paro, Bhutan. Our Delhi representative will drop you at the Delhi airport. You will continue your 2 hours long flight by soaking in the magnificent sights from the plane. Upon your arrival at Paro, you will meet our Bhutanese representative who will guide you throughout the remaining days.

We will visit the Airport Bird's Eye Viewpoint which is famous for enjoying the overall views of Paro as soon as we exit from the airport. Then, we will have lunch and rest for a while. After that, we will start to explore the Paro Valley with the help of a guide. First of all, we will visit Ta Dzong which used to be a watchtower during the 17th century. Now, this tower building has been renovated into a National Museum. We can observe the ancient Buddhist arts and architecture of Bhutan, bronze statues, special symbols of Bhutanese warriors, etc. inside the museum.

From Ta Dzong, we will head towards Kyichu Lhakhang which is the oldest temple in Bhutan. It is home to the eight-year-old Buddha statue of Sakyamuni which is surrounded by vibrant flowers, fields, and hills.

We will also visit Paro Rinpung Dzong which is also known as Heap of Jewels fort. It was built by Zabdrung Ngawang Namgyal who is believed to be the founder of Bhutan. Now, it has been renovated into administrative offices and a monastery.

After exploring the major sights of Paro valley, we will drive to Thimphu. In the evening, you can roam around the market of this capital city and buy souvenirs for your loved ones

Thimphu sightseeing and Drive to Punakha

Driving Duration: 2.5 Hours (80km)

Highlights: Visiting King's Memorial Chorten, National Library, Buddha Dordenma, Folk Heritage Museum, School of Arts and Crafts, and Tashichho Dzong, and Scenic Drive to Punakha

In the morning, we will visit King's Memorial Chorten with Greater Himalaya's guide. It was built in the memory of Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, the third Bhutanese King.

From here, we will drive towards the hilltop of Buddha Dordenma which is a popular tourist destination in Bhutan. On the top of the hill, a 169 ft. giant metal statue of Buddha is placed which has 1,25,0000 miniature statues in its bronze body.

Afterward, we will visit Tashichho Dzong which is the headquarter of the royal government of Bhutan. This fortress houses the secretariat government and the throne room of the king.

Similarly, we will also explore Changangkhalhakhang which is one of the oldest temples of Bhutan built in the 12th century. Besides this, we will also explore the National Library, Folk Heritage Museum, and School of Arts and Crafts which will provide a deep insight into Bhutan history and a panoramic view of the ancient things being preserved in the museum.

In the evening, we will walk around Clock Tower Square and visit the local markets. We will also interact with the local people and learn about their lifestyles.

From Thimphu, we will drive to Punakha by crossing the DochuLa Pass (3,050m) and riding through a forest filled with pine and hemlock. Throughout the journey, you can witness the panorama of the huge Himalayas.

Punakha Sightseeing and Drive to Paro

Driving Duration: 4-5 Hours
Max. Altitude: 1,350 (Punakha) and 2,200m (Paro)

Highlights: Visiting Punakha Dzong, Wangdu Phodrang Dzong, Chimi Lhakhang, and Enjoying scenic drive to Paro

In the morning, we will start our exploration of Punakha which used to be the capital of Bhutan. We will visit the popular Punakha Dzong which is located between Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu Rivers. It is believed to be the most beautiful dzong among the other 21 dzongs of Bhutan. The surrounding of this dzong is beautiful in spring when it is surrounded by blooming lilac Jacaranda trees.

Next, we will head towards Wangdu Phodrang Dzong from where the Punakha valley is clearly seen. It is located on the ridge so you can also enjoy the short hiking to the Rinchangang valley. It also holds one of the important statues from history and was the second capital city during the past days.

Further, we will drive to Chimi Lhakhang which was built in 1499 by the Lama Drukpa Kunley - 'Divine Madman'. It is believed that childless women can have a child by visiting this temple and receiving a blessing from the saint. Also, don't miss the Punakha festival if you are visiting Bhutan Tour around mid-February.

After exploring Punakha, we will return to Paro by enjoying the scenic drive.

Hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery

Hiking Duration: 3-4 Hours

Highlights: Hiking to Taktsang Monastery

Today, we will hike to Taktsang Monastery which is the landmark of Paro Valley and the holy temple of Bhutan. It is situated at the cliffs of Paro Valley at 3,120m.

It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava, also known as the Second Buddha, flew here on the back of a tigress and meditated for three months inside the caves on the cliff of Paro Valley. From this cliffside, you can see the stunning views of the Paro Valley.

First, we will drive up to the starting point of the hike and begin our hike to Taktsang. We have to walk uphill all the way. You can also hire a pony ride halfway off the trail. From halfway, you need to cover the remaining distance by the feet. It takes around 3 hours and 30 minutes to reach the top of the monastery. We will hike through the dense lush forests filled with pine trees.

The view from the top of the monastery is stunning which will wash away all our tiring climb. We will capture the moments with this monastery in photos and videos. After spending quality time on a rocky cliff, we will walk down to the highway and drive back to the hotel.

During our 10 Day India, and Bhutan Tour, we will be staying in a 3-star hotel. You have to share the twin room with another touring partner because it is awfully hard to find a room in a hotel during peak season in these countries. However, if you want a single room, then you can tell us and we will manage it for you at an additional cost.

Be it a single or twin room, it will be extremely comfortable for you to spend a night. Every room is clean and well-equipped with needed materials. Also, there are facilities of air conditioner, shower, and attached bathroom. You will get a warm blanket and pillow.

If you want to stay in a 5-star hotel rather than a 3-star hotel, then we can make changes to your itinerary. You can enjoy the luxurious facilities, if they are available, just by paying a little extra. Just tell us and we will give you everything as per your demand.

Meals in India and Bhutan Tour

Most of the Greater Himalaya itinerary, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in the tour package. We will try our best to serve authentic and unique food during the tour. However, if you want to taste something beyond this such as street foods, snacks, water, etc. then you need to pay for it on your own.

Since you are traveling in two different nations, you will get to taste the distinct food throughout your trip. So, be ready to give the fiery blast to your tongue during this trip.

Bhutanese cuisine is incredibly special and has a very sharp taste. In every dish, they use chilies to make it spicy. So, be ready to fire your tongue with spicy meals. Rice is the main part of Bhutanese dishes. Besides this, you can also taste the meats like Beef, Pork, and Chicken. Also, western, and Indian cuisines are also easily available in this country.
