Lhasa Sightseeing Tour

We shall visit major places and attractions of Lhasa today like Drepung monastery and Sera monastery. Along the journey to these monasteries, we will brief you about some do’s and don’ts while exploring the monasteries. Both of these monasteries are revered Tibetan monasteries or gompas and are situated in the sacred land of Lhasa. Drepung monastery was once the largest monastery in the world with a myriad of stupas, paintings, sculptures, statues, etc. Likewise, the Sera monastery is another intriguing and revered place to be in where Buddhism Debating is quite a thing. It is believed that Buddhism debating will enhance the comprehension and understanding of Buddhism Philosophy.

Additional day Lhasa City Tour

Today is the day to explore other landmarks of Lhasa like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor street, etc. Your tour guide will pick you up from the hotel and then together you can set out to explore the UNESCO World heritage sites of Lhasa – Potala Palace. Located at 3700 meters, Potala Palace is known for its mesmerizing architecture plus the ancient and cultural value it holds. While the palace and Red palace are 2 parts of Potala palace. Potala Palace was once home to the Dalai Lama. After exploring Potala Palace, next on our list is Jokhang temple which homes a life-sized statue of 12-year-old Shakyamuni. Jokhang temple is very much revered and is flooded by devoted pilgrims. Later today, we will also explore the lively round street market around the Jokhang temple.
